This mycotoxin belongs to the <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">trichothecene <\/strong>group, a class of toxic compounds with strong <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">cytotoxic <\/strong>and <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">immunosuppressive<\/strong> properties.<\/p>\n<p>The main problem is that DON is extremely stable. <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">It does not break down<\/strong> during <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">storage<\/strong>, <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">milling<\/strong>, processing or even <strong style=\"color: #034834;\">cooking<\/strong>.
